2D Draughting
Although many architects, engineers and designers work using 3D information, many prefer to work in 2D. CGD Ltd is able to support and help clients in both 2D and 3D CAD. We can:
- make alterations to drawings
- construct drawings from scratch
- work with designers, architects or engineers to produce working drawings.
3D Modelling
CGD Ltd can create 3D CAD models of buildings and structures for visualisation purposes, to help clients visualise projects prior to construction or at the planning stage.
Raster to Vector conversion
CGD Ltd is able to convert paper/film hard copy plans and drawings into a digital CAD form. This can either be done as an automatic conversion (the cheapest option) or a semi automatic conversion can be performed which creates a fully layered drawing with line styles, text and dimensions etc.
CAD drawings from sketches
CGD Ltd is able to create digital CAD drawings from sketches.
Transport & Works Act (TWA) Plans
CGD Ltd have worked on a number of TWA projects, including the London City Airport Extension, Woolwich Extension for Docklands Light Railway Ltd. We also undertook the plans for Merseytram and Cambridgeshire Guided Bus. As well as the plans we provided the CAD resource for all the land related issues, including Notice Plans and Agreement Plans. We also advised on suitable OS digital maps.

File Formats
CGD Ltd uses software capable of accepting and manipulating data from many different formats. We can use data from Mapinfo, Arc View, Autodesk and Microstation amongst others. Data can be delivered in all these formats and additionally in Moss/MX Genio formats.
Autodesk Civil 3D Services and Support
Autodesk Civil 3D is becoming a standard Civil Engineering design tool. CGD Ltd is experienced in the use of Civil 3D and can support clients either at their offices or remotely by supplementing their design teams.
Consultancy
CGD Ltd is able to help you install and configure your CAD system including selecting and setting up plotters. We can help you decide which system is best for you, help you install it and provide technical support for your chosen system. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Working in Clients Offices
Our consultants will work in your offices if required, we generally do work for clients in our offices. However, some clients would prefer us to work in their offices; This may be so that we can cover holidays, or sickess, contact us to discuss your requirements.
